Hanna Instruments invented the pocket tester in 1986. Since then they have refined their original design incorporating customer suggestions and culminating in this new meter.
The case itself has been enlarged to make it more rugged and easier to hold. This has allowed for a biger and clearer LCD window to be fitted to make it possible to read the meter from any angle. For maximum protection, the LDC display is recessed and protected behind a moulded window.
The On/Off switch is located on top of the unit to keep it away from the solution being measured and thus reduce the chance of water damage to the circuit. The battery compartment is housed near the top of the meter on the rear and the batteries are easily replaced with a ribbon pull-strip to facilitate removal.
Every Hanna tester is supplied with a twelve month warranty against manufacturing or component faults.

Tips and Advice
- do not immerse the tester more than halfway into the liquid you are measuring
- do make sure you clean the measuring tip in clean water after use
- store the tester in tap water, or even better tester storage solution
- do remember to calibrate your tester, using certified pH buffer solutions
- remember it does use batteries. Change them when it stops, it usually does the trick!
